I have been away out of town so I have not been able to compile results from my first survey, however I would be gratefull for some more input on this one.
Thanks in advance for your help.
the first survey i asked how you were brought into the non-truth.
my next survey is along the same line, however what i would like to find out is on the average how many hours you spent in the field service and were you ever able to bring anyone into the non-truth via field service or via incidental witnessing.. and how long you were associated with the borg?.
thank you in advance for your input.

i'm new here and i have some questions about joining the air force or not.
i'm 21 years old, i was raised as a jehovah's witness but stopped going when i was 13 because i was a kid and thought it was boring (like school).
even after i quit going i still done things that were right or i tried to still live by what i was taught and i'm greatful that i was raised that way because it kept me out of a lot of trouble and made me who i am today.

FredHall is the local idiot on this board. Just ignore him, we believe he is probally a little retarded so do not let his foolishness concern you.
And to answer your question; if you were to join the Air Force just make sure that you take full advantage of all the good that can come from it like college, on the job training etc. If you do that you will probally be glad you joined.
if the borg don't have the truth....who does?.
a question i've been pondering since learning of the deceiptfull ways of the borg.
once one has the "knowledge" of good and bad, as it were, that the borg are/have lied to its followers, been deceiptfull, misused others quotations to suit thier purpose, and misapplied them, as so very well brought to us by maximus{which by the way, max, have you posted your story anywhere on the forum?
I believe if there was a one and only true message in the Bible that our creator wanted us to understand it would be very clear just like in the Scriptres that tell us some things very clearly.
I do not believe there is one truth and one truth only. I feel like you must come to some educated conclusions for yourself and if it is what you really feel is truth, hold on to it and have a strong conviction for it, and that will be your truth.
(some quotes on truth)
I always divide people into two groups. Those who live by what they know to be a lie, and those who live by what they believe, falsely, to be the truth.
He who begins by loving Christianity better than truth, will proceed by loving his own sect or church better than Christianity, and end in loving himself better than all.
Argument is conclusive... but... it does not remove doubt, so that the mind may rest in the sure knowledge of the truth, unless it finds it by the method of experiment. For if any man who never saw fire proved by satisfactory arguments that fire burns. his hearer's mind would never be satisfied, nor would he avoid the fire until he put his hand in it that he might learn by experiment what argument taught.
Getting rid of a delusion makes us wiser than getting hold of a truth.
Those who believe in their truth -- the only ones whose imprint is retained by the memory of men -- leave the earth behind them strewn with corpses. Religions number in their ledgers more murders than the bloodiest tyrannies account for, and those whom humanity has called divine far surpass the most conscientious murderers in their thirst for slaughter.
When we believe ourselves in possession of the only truth, we are likely to be indifferent to common everyday truths.
Convictions are more dangerous enemies of truth than lies.
Life may change, but it may fly not; Hope may vanish, but can die not; Truth be veiled, but still it burneth; Love repulsed, -- but it returneth.
She say, Celie, tell the truth, have you ever found God in church? I never did. I just found a bunch of folks hoping for him to show. Any God I ever felt in church I brought in with me. And I think all the other folks did too. They come to church to share God, not find God.
Unless people can be kept in the dark, it is best for those who love the truth to give them the full light.
When a subject is highly controversial... one cannot hope to tell the truth. One can only show how one came to hold whatever opinion one does hold. One can only give one's audience the chance of drawing their own conclusions as they observe the limitations, the prejudices, the idiosyncrasies of the speaker.
Have the courage to say no. Have the courage to face the truth. Do the right thing because it is right. These are the magic keys to living your life with integrity.
Who never doubted, never half believed. Where doubt is, there truth is -- it is her shadow.

Thank You In Advance For Your Input.
i have been reading post after post since january, (when my husband and i quit going to the meetings), just now getting up the nerve to say anything.
you people scare me!!!
there are some intense messages on here.
Good move Sarah, it takes courage to do what you have done. And believe me in time you will have the same convictions about your new outlook on JW'S as you did when you first thought you had the truth.
There is nothing wrong with doubt.
(some good quotes on doubt)
The believer is happy; the doubter is wise.
If a man will begin with certainties, he shall end in doubts, but if he will be content to begin with doubts, he shall end in certainties.
One must verify or expel his doubts, and convert them into the certainty of Yes or NO.
True wisdom is less presuming than folly. The wise man doubteth often, and changeth his mind; the fool is obstinate, and doubteth not; he knoweth all things but his own ignorance.
Who never doubted, never half believed. Where doubt is, there truth is -- it is her shadow.
Doubt is the vestibule through which all must pass before they can enter into the temple of wisdom.
If you would be a real seeker after truth, it is necessary that at least once in your life you doubt, as far as possible, all things.
He that knows nothing doubts nothing.
Doubt is the beginning, not the end, of wisdom.
Great doubts deep wisdom. Small doubts little wisdom.
There lives more faith in honest doubt, Believe me, than in half the creeds.
Life is doubt, and faith without doubt is nothing but death.
The greater the knowledge, the greater the doubt.
There is something pagan in me that I cannot shake off. In short, I deny nothing, but doubt everything.
We, when we sow the seeds of doubt deeper than the most up-to-date and modish free-thought has ever dreamed of doing, we well know what we are about. Only out of radical skeptics, out of moral chaos, can the Absolute spring, the anointed Terror of which the time has need.
Truth is beautiful, without doubt; but so are lies.
Believe those who are seeking truth, doubt those who find it.
Deep doubts, deep wisdom; small doubts, little wisdom.
it seems like to me the majority of people who are in the truth, are were in the truth was a result of either a family member are a friend witnessing to them and not many seem to have been found in the door to door work.. from my years of associating with the borg i cannot recall many coming in the truth from the door to door work.. how were you sucked in?

i was just thinking, (whoops!, can't do that anymore, 8/1/01 wt), after reading my bible i came across a passage that discussed payment for christian workers:.
7what soldier has to pay his own expenses?
and have you ever heard of a farmer who harvests his crop and doesnt have the right to eat some of it?
They owe me nothing except to stay out of my life and to at some point in time be exposed on a large scale so more people can get out of her path of lies and deception.
Of course if I could sue them in a court of law for punitve damages as well as pain and suffering, and don't forget lost wages from being taught that college is evil, they would probally owe a lot of us a lot of coins.
... all right, folks.
venice is calling in the heavy artillery.
i also have mafia connections who are not named guido, but knee-cap charlie and sal the stiletto.
She is smart she is very pretty and she is going to wash that borg right out of your hair to.
does anyone know what andrea yates religion is?.
she is the woman who drown her 5 children just recently.. on good morning america today the qestion was asked if it was thought that her restrictive religion .
and her homeschooling added to the stress and depression she was in.
I actually live about 1 mile from the Yates home, I used to live only two blocks from them and can remember there corner home always being a place where the parents were always out in the yard with the kids spending time with them.
My cousin has a very good friend who's husband was real close to Mr. Yates. And what I can piece together they had no specific religion that they called there own. I also learned that Mr.Yates did read the Bible quite often and was a very male chauvanist type of person that always insisted that his wife stay home and have kid's.
Each child was named after a bible character, I believe there names were John,Paul,Luke,David and Mary.
I have not picked up on anything else as far as a cult situation or anything like that.
the site changed but the atheist proseletyzing continues.
isn't it odd how our two norwigs compliment each other in their attacks on god and the bible?
well, simon, you now have the honor of hosting a platform for the true apostates to spew their anti-god venom.. this kind of thing is sadly typical of those who leave the wts.
Maybe This Will Help !!!

Quotes From Famous Infidels
Many of the greatest thinkers were atheists, agnostics or deists with no respect for any church
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thomas Jefferson (Deist)
"History I believe furnishes no example of a priest-ridden people maintaining a free civil government. This marks the lowest grade of ignorance, of which their political as well as religious leaders will always avail themselves for their own purpose. " -- Thomas Jefferson to Baron von Humboldt, 1813
"Question with boldness even the existence of a god; because if there be one he must approve of the homage of reason more than that of blindfolded fear." --Thomas Jefferson, Letter to Peter Carr, August 10, 1787
"The Christian god can easily be pictured as virtually the same god as the many ancient gods of past civilizations. The Christian god is a three headed monster; cruel, vengeful and capricious. If one wishes to know more of this raging, three headed beast-like god, one only needs to look at the caliber of people who say they serve him. They are always of two classes: fools and hypocrites." -- Thomas Jefferson
"Millions of innocent men, women and children, since the introduction of Christianity, have been burnt, tortured, fined and imprisoned; yet we have not advanced one inch towards uniformity." --Thomas Jefferson, Notes on Virginia, 1782.
"And the day will come when the mystical generation of Jesus, by the supreme being as his father in the womb of a virgin will be classed with the fable of the generation of Minerve in the brain of Jupiter. But may we hope that the dawn of reason and freedom of thought in these United States will do away with this artificial scaffolding, and restore to us the primitive and genuine doctrines of this most venerated reformer of human errors." --Thomas Jefferson, Letter to John Adams, April 11, 1823
Napoleon Bonaparte
I have no clue as to Napoleon's Religious ideals so e-mail me if you have that information. Here are his quotes:
"Religion is excellent stuff for keeping common people quiet." --Napoleon
"All religions have been made by men." --Napoleon
Thomas Paine (Deist?)
"Whenever we read the obscene stories, the voluptuous debaucheries, the cruel and torturous executions, the unrelenting vindictiveness with which more than half the Bible is filled, it would be more consistent that we called it the word of a demon than the word of God. It . . . has served to corrupt and brutalize mankind." --Thomas Paine The Age of Reason
"The most formidable weapon against errors of every kind is reason. I have never used any other, and I trust I never shall."
--Thomas Paine, The Age of Reason
"Revelation is a communication of something which the person to whom the thing id revealed did not know before. For if I have done, a thing, or seen it done, it needs no Revelation to tell me, I have done or seen it done nor enable me to tell it or write it. Revelation therefore cannot be applied to anything done upon earth, of which man is himself actor or witness and
consequently all the historical part of the Bible which is almost the whole of it, is not within the meaning and compass of the word Revelation and therefore is not the Word of God."-- Thomas Paine The Age of Reason
John Adams
"Where do we find a precept in the Bible for Creeds, Confessions, Doctrines and Oaths, and whole carloads of other trumpery that we find religion encumbered with in these days?"
"The doctrine of the divinity of Jesus is made a convenient cover for absurdity"
James Madison
""What influence in fact have Christian ecclesiastical establishments had on civil society? In many instances they have been upholding the thrones of political tyranny. In no instance have they been seen as the guardians of the liberties of the people. Rulers who wished to subvert the public liberty have found in the clergy convenient auxiliaries. A just government, instituted to secure and perpetuate liberty, does not need the clergy."
Jonathan Swift
"We have just enough religion to make us hate but not enough religion to make us love one another"
Miscellaneous
"Immorality: The morality of those who are having a better time." [H.L. Mencken]
"No kingdom has shed more blood than the kingdom of Christ." [Montiesque]
"Creationists make it sound as though a 'theory' is something you dreamt up after being drunk all night." [Isaac Asimov]
"When I think of all the harm the Bible has done, I despair of ever writing anything to equal it." [Oscar Wilde]
"[Fundamentalists] never wonder why, if herpes is sent by 'god' to scourge "adulterers," whooping cough and measles weren't purposely created to lambaste children." [Fred Woodworth]
"I was born a heretic. I always distrust people who know so much about what God wants them to do to their fellows. [Susan B. Anthony]
"I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours." [Stephen Roberts]
